Objective: Students will construct and explain a simple DC circuit containing a battery, switch, lamp and ground/reference point.

  • Starter: Predict what must happen for the lamp to illuminate.
  • Practical: Build the circuit in sequence.
  • Simulation: Close and open the switch and observe current-path feedback.
  • Assessment: Explain why an open switch prevents the lamp from lighting.
